Too Cute at Two Months!

Blake will be two months old tomorrow...my, does time fly! He had his two month well baby check up today, and Dr. Ripley had concluded that he is perfect...we couldn't agree more! He also got his first round of shots - he took them like a champ, but has been a little cranky this afternoon. At two months, Blake loves watching his older brother, looking and smiling at his mommy, and snuggling on Daddy's chest. He is getting a lot stronger in terms of his head strengh and is tracking things with his eyes (I think that's why he loves watching Kyler!). Just the other day while he was lying on his play mat he grabbed one of the rings, and he also grabs for his pacifier! He is right where he needs to be with his "milestones"!

Two Month Stats:
Weight - 11 pounds 4 ounces (38th percentile, up from the 12th percentile at birth!)
Height - 23 1/4 inches (59th percentile)
Head circumference - 15 inches (48th percentile)Hanging out with big brother!

My Future Blogger

One of Kyler's favorite things to do on the computer is to "write" his name. Josh and I will allow him to type his name into a Word document, and he LOVES it! He can do so proficiently, but not so much with paper and pencil (We are still just trying to perfect the K).I would have never imagined doing this when I was his age. I remember in elementary school going to the computer lab once a month to play Oregon Trail and watching the bullet beep across the screen only to miss the buffalo I was aiming at. Mind you, they were the old green screen Macs. It is mind boggling to think of how technology will advance by the time Kyler is school age!

Happy Birthday Homie, Lover, Friend!

Nearly 11 years ago the man of my dreams walked right into my life! In August of 2000, a friend of mine invited me "home" to the Western Slope of Colorado to visit with her family. I obliged since I was newly single and looking for adventure. Plus, I had never been to the beautiful western part of our state. She brought me to a tiny town called Cedaredge in hopes of setting me up with her younger brother. Once we were there we were driving down the one main drag of the town and ran into a few of her high school buddies. We stopped to say hello. Then shortly after that, Josh drove by in his 1985 Ford Escort and decided to stop as well. The next evening we were going camping on Grand Mesa and invited all of Carol's friends that had convened in the "Best Friends Veterinary Clinic" parking lot (Josh being one of them). The next night Josh showed up, since it was one of his few nights off from working at the lumber yard. We immediately hit it off and chatted it up all night long! The next morning I awoke to a fresh bunch of wildflowers on the windshield of Carol's truck. I know it sounds cheesy, but he had me at hello! I am ever so grateful for today (May 15), since it is the day Joshua Allan was born! He is amazing! As Kyler put it in his birthday card, "I will love you forever!" You and me both, Kyler!

Look A-likes Part Dux!

Wow...I thought the other pictures were amazingly similar, but these are even more so! We used to call Kyler, Mr. Big Eyes now we can call Blake that too!Kyler @ 7 weeksBlake @ 7 weeks
Kyler LOVED the Baby Einstein mat when he was younger, and Blake LOVES it too! They are eerily alike!

Look A-Likes!

When Blake was born, I didn't think he looked ANYTHING like his brother. Blake was really tiny, blonde hair, and bright blue eyes. Kyler was nearly 9 pounds, jet black hair, and grey eyes. But now I think I might be wrong. Since Blake has packed on a few more pounds, I see a stunning resemblance! Here is just one example, but I see it all of the time!Kyler @ 8 weeksBlake @ 6 weeks

Graduation

Josh can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel in terms of his Master Degree (He has to present his Action Research Project to the board in July). He has been diligently working on it for 2 years now. It amazes me that he can work as a full-time teacher at Windsor High School, be an amazing father, and a phenomenal husband and pull staight A's in an Educational Mathematics Masters program. When I grow up I want to be like Josh Urich! I am so very proud of all the hard work that he does to better himself as a person and educator!
