Springtime...

...a time of new life! Not only was Blake born at the very beginning of Spring, but new life is popping up all around us. I love Springtime for that very reason! I love watching the flowers bloom, the trees bud, the grass turn green, and everything just "spring" to life again. To me, it is a sign of hope and new beginnings. Every year, Blake's birthday will mark the beginning of new life!

Along with being able to watch Blake grow before our very own eyes and the new growth in our yard, we have also been invited to see the beginning of new life for some animals. Mrs. Hall, Angy's Kindergarten teaching partner, invited us into her classroom to see some brand new baby chicks. I thought this was appropriate after the whole Peep incident.Debbie also does an annual field trip to Plumb Farm to see all of the baby animals. I was fortunate enough to attend this year.All of these events have made for an extra special Springtime!

I loved having photos done when Kyler was just days old, so we decided to make it back to Shannon Connor when Blake was 9 days old. Once again she did a fabulous job! These are just a few of my favorites!

Mr. Blake is One Month!

I know I say this a lot, but time does really fly by with children! Blake is already one month old! He is thriving! I absolutely love this stage because you can basically watch them change right before your eyes. Blake weighs approximately 9 pounds and measures 22 inches tall! He eats, sleeps and poops a TON, but in addition to that, he is awake a lot more and looking all around, he's cooing and grunting and smiling more and more each day (the grunting and smiling could be gas related). First month as the BIG brother!

I don't mean to sound redundant, but Kyler is doing a phenomenal job as a big brother. He asks about his little brother all of the time. Kyler is just so interested in Blake and his well-being. He is so cautious and caring...I can only hope that this continues for the rest of their lives.

To help the adjustment and transition be a little easier for Kyler Josh and I have been making sure Kyler knows just how much he is loved. We have kept Kyler's routine pretty much the same (even continuing to take him to Deb's daycare), yet we have treated him to so special activities. Hoppy Easter!

We had a wonderful Easter here in the Urich household! All of our family conviened here at our house for some delicious Easter food, an egg hunt and pinata fun!Happy Boys!Hunting for eggs!Check out that loot!Family Fun!

Peep!

The other day Kyler came home with some plastic eggs from Debbie's house. After eating all of the candy out of them, we played with them for hours. Kyler opened and closed them numerous times, lined them up, hid them, hid things under them, and pretended that chicks were hatching from them. They were quite entertaining.

After we pretended that the chicks were hatching from them, I took one of the plastic eggs from Kyler. I secretly placed a Peep inside of it and then gave it back to him. Once he got the Peep filled egg I told him to open it up. He did, and was astonished that there was a "chick" inside of it. Kyler has never been exposed to Peeps before, so he was absolutely shocked! He didn't know what to do. He touched it and wasn't sure what the gritty substance on the outside was. He didn't know what to do with it, so he dropped it on the ground. After about 2 minutes of pure curiosity, we told him that it was candy and that he could eat it. He did and enjoyed every minute of it! Priceless!
