It all started out on Monday afternoon when Josh went to pick the boys up from Debbie's. She proceeded to tell Josh a story about how Kyler had behaved uncharacteristically for her that day. Apparently he desperately wanted to watch the movie that Debbie had put on for quiet time. Unfortunately he had forgotten to clean up the things he was working with (scissors, paper and crayons). So Debbie asked him kindly to clean up his area...he quickly walked over, put one thing away, and rushed back to watch the movie. Debbie had to then ask him another time to clean up his things...that was when he let out a big sigh and rolled his eyes at her! She was so caught-off-guard since he has never done anything like this (for her) before. He escaped with a short tongue lashing because it was his first offense.
Then on Thursday night he has another uncharacteristic episode. I was away at Science Discovery Night at my school. Since Josh was on his own with the boys he had decided that they would forgo their baths. As Josh was getting dinner ready, it got really quiet (if you are a parent, you know that quiet isn't always good). So he peeked around the corner into the dining room only to find the boys surrounded by uncovered markers marking all over their feet! I'm pretty sure Kyler initiated that one since he said that he did it because he was trying to scare daddy. Well, his plan worked...he scared his daddy alright! Needless to say, they were unable to skip baths.
Friday was the most shocking to me! Again, when Josh went to pick the boys up from Debbie's, she had yet another story. Debbie takes the kids out to a McDonald's Playplace when it is too cold to go to a park, so they had gone to McDonald's with another daycare group. Apparently, some of the older kids came rushing down the slide to report that Kyler was KISSING another little girl in the tube above the slide! Debbie, once again, lectured Kyler. This time it was about how kisses are for the people we love, and hugs are for friends. Probably in a much calmer way than I would had handled it! The funny part of it all was when Josh was talking to him about it in the truck on the way home, Kyler mentioned how confused he was about the whole thing. "I think I have two girlfriends now...I don't know who I am going to marry!" The confusion is only beginning, son!
Never a dull moment! Thanks for keeping us on our toes, Kyler...I thought Blake was the one we really had to worry about!
