"I'm creepin' and I'm creepin' and I'm creepin'!"

Just last week the switch finally went on for Kyler. After threatening to crawl for over a week, he is now crawling all over the place! It is bittersweet. I am excited to see that my son can crawl, but that means he is growing up!

Now that Kyler is mobile, he likes to get into lots of things. Here are a few of his favorites:

Growin' like a weed!

Last night I went in to check on Kyler and to sneak in another "Goodnight kiss", and I just couldn't believe just how big he is getting! My little boy isn't so little anymore, and where does the time go? It made me a little sad.

Kyler at about one month.

Sometimes it is really hard for me to imagine just how small Kyler once was and how much he has grown. When I put the pictures side-by-side, it simply amazes me how much a child can change in just a few short months. I feel as though I am very lucky to be able to partake in the rearing of a child and watch him grow before my very own eyes!

Hoppy Easter

On our way back from Keystone, we stopped in Frederick to have a nice Easter brunch with my family.

Weekend Get-a-way

Josh and I had our first-ever weekend away from Kyler. We were able to go up to Keystone and hang out with some friends of ours in their parent's condo. It was really hard to leave Kyler, but as Josh and I discussed, it was a much needed get-a-way. It was nice to do grown-up things and not really have to worry about any repercussions that may occur the next day. Thank you Jeff and Jaime!

My mom has been in town since the beginning of the month and was able to watch Kyler for the whole weekend. The sad part was that he finally started to crawl (we'll post a video clip soon) and we weren't home to witness it. Boo Hoo! He and my mom were able to have some quality time together while I had some quality time with my husband. Thank you Mom!

Blogging to Blog

I haven't really had any great ideas for the blog lately, so I am blogging just to blog. My brother, Adam, told me the other day that I have been slackin' on the blog. It is really because our lives has not been that exciting lately (other than the arrival of Madi and my mother being in town - of course). We have been on Spring Break the last week, but it has been filled with appointments, playdates, school work, dinner with friends, and other chores that I would LOVE to stay home and do on a daily basis. Can Spring Break be every week?

Welcome Madilin Rose!

Kyler is no longer the baby of the family. Today at 9:33 am we welcomed Madilin Rose into this world at 6 pounds 12 ounces and 19 1/2 inches. She is perfect!

Congratulations Brian and Courtney on another BEAUTIFUL baby girl!

SNOW DAY!

Spring Blizzard 2009 - This morning as I was dreading getting out of bed, I was thinking about the best way to get Kyler to daycare and myself to work. After a few minutes of comtemplating, I finally brought myself to get up out of bed and into the shower - clearly complaining to Josh that school should have been called off and we should still be in bed. I wasn't even a whole minute into my shower (my hair wasn't even wet), and I received a phone call from my teaching partner that school had been CANCELED! HURRAY! I couldn't have been happier! After yesterday we deserved the whole day off. The majority of yesterday was spent trying to call 24 parents (good thing 8 of my students we absent or else it would have been 32) to tell them that school was going to be dismissed 2 hours early.

So...we took advantage of the day and played outside!

Colorado weather is so very interesting. Last weekend Josh and I were doing some yard work and brought Kyler out to play in the grass. We went from summer-like weather to a blizzard in just 4 short days - I shouldn't forget to mention that mid 50's are forecasted for the weekend! Gotta love Colorado weather - I do!

Who needs fancy toys?

It seems as though the simplest toys create the most fun! The other day when we got home from school/daycare, it was quite warm in our house so I decided to strip Kyler down and take off his socks. I started to wave them in front of his face saying, "Pee ewe!" He thought it was the funniest thing, and was giggling the cutest little "gut-giggle" around. Then I decided to see what he would do if I put his socks on his hands. We had tons of fun, and all it took was just one pair of socks!
